We are saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Bryan Clyde Bass, family physician of the Cowichan Valley community, and long-time clinical faculty in the UBC Department of Family Practice.
Dr. Bass completed his undergraduate medical training in 1985 at UBC. He spent two years in New Zealand as a Senior House Officer and surgery registrar before completing his family medicine residency on Vancouver Island. He dedicated 33 years of his life to serving patients in the Cowichan Valley community.
Dr. Bass joined our department as a clinical instructor in April 2002, and had an active appointment with us until his passing in January 2025. He will be remembered for his generosity as a teacher, and his love for the great outdoors.
