Dr. Granger Richard Avery is a clinical professor in the department of family practice who has been recently appointed to the Order of Canada. He is recognized for his incisive leadership in the practice of rural medicine and for his tireless commitment to improving Canada’s health care system. Considered one of the country’s highest civilian honours, the Order of Canada recognizes those who have enriched the lives of others and made extraordinary contributions to the nation.
