February Cedar Award: Dr. Nahla Fahmy

This month, we recognize Dr. Nahla Fahmy as the recipient of the Cedar Award.

A former UBC family practice residency grad, Nahla is currently an active preceptor for both residents and medical students. She recently started one of the team-based primary care learning centres (TPCLC), something she says she is “passionate about co-leading.” Nahla is a full-service family doctor in the Fraser Northwest area where she looks after a longitudinal patient panel, practices maternity care at Royal Columbian Hospital and takes part in the long-term care initiative network.

Nahla also works as a performance coach for the residency program, doing one-on-one coaching with residents. She has also delivered workshops to international medical graduates to help them pass the CAP exam.

“All-in-all, Nahla is an invaluable resource to UBC, a lovely human, and a credit to the family medicine profession.” – Bill Upward

Thank you and congratulations to Dr. Nahla Fahmy!
