Benefit Updates

Employee and family assistance provider (EFAP) has transitioned to TELUS Health

This is highly important news to those who are eligible for the benefits. Our EFAP has transitioned to TELUS Health but there are no changes in service provided by TELUS Health compared with LifeWorks. We assure you that these benefits are 100% paid for by UBC and are still available for you. To learn more, please click here.

We would also like to introduce you to a new way to book an online appointment with an EFAP. You can easily connect with our EFAP through TELUS Health One online booking system or contact the Health Care Access Centre at +1 866 424 0770. To learn more about the new online booking tool, please click here.

Recruitment and Job Posting Updates

New EDI Language in UBC Job Descriptions

As part of the Inclusion Action Plan, new EDI language is being added to UBC staff job descriptions this fall. This includes an EDI statement that will appear at the top of staff JDs, as well as two EDI statement bullets that will fall under the ‘Minimum Qualifications’ section. To learn more about the EDI language, please click here.

Updated Guides and Checklists for Positive Onboarding Experiences

To ensure a positive onboarding experience for new hires, UBC Central HR has updated resources for all the managers. Access Managers Onboarding Guide and New Hire Onboarding Checklist from here.
