Nominated by Jordan Christmas, Administrative Coordinator
Anyone who has met her knows that Tammy Senbel is a breath of fresh air. As the Culture, Communications and Systems Coordinator, she brings so much life to the Department of Family Practice office. The ease with which she goes above and beyond to make staff feel valued and appreciated is exactly what makes her the deserving recipient of the July Cedar Award.
Tammy goes out of her way to make the environment that we work in more welcoming and will always provide a supportive ear to anyone who needs it. Recently, she led a clothing and home goods swap in the office, which is not only a positive for the environment but also helped build connections across the team.
What Her Colleagues Have to Say
“She is outstanding in so many ways: Stylish, committed, has follow through, is present in all situations. When you are talking to Tammy, you have her full attention. She has been working in the Family Practice Postgrad office for over a year, yet it feels like she has been here for much longer than that. Tammy has forged relationships with many, if not all of her colleagues. She has spearheaded some initiatives that have created more community within the program. Tammy was recently chosen as a Team Spirit Leader by her Family Practice Colleagues. She creates culture wherever she goes and she has already done so in the FP office.
To know Tammy is to have an example of how we can be in work and life: kind, committed, loving, focused on possibilities, and being a life-long learner.“
– Tamar Haytayan, Coastal Site Coordinator
Outside the Office
Working for UBC Family Practice Postgraduate Program is a true joy. However, outside of work Tammy can be found socializing with friends and family, exploring the outdoors with her husband and two sons and learning to become a potter.
Please join us in thanking and congratulating Tammy!
