Providence Health Care Department of Family Medicine Research Award Named After Dr. Betty Calam

We are thrilled to share that our esteemed colleague, Dr. Betty Calam, has been honored with the creation of the Dr. Betty Calam Research Award from the Providence Health Care Department of Family Medicine. This recognizes Dr. Calam’s outstanding contributions to family medicine research.

The Dr. Betty Calam Research Award recognizes a second year St. Paul’s Hospital Family Medicine Resident who has completed, or will shortly complete a resident research project that:

  • is relevant to Family Medicine
  • displays sound research design
  • will be submitted for publication
  • may involve a Department member as a co-author (encouraged)

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Calam on this well-deserved recognition. Her contributions have significantly shaped our academic community, and we look forward to witnessing the ongoing impact of her remarkable career.

This award has been given to Dr. Tharmegan Tharmaratnam and his research project titled “Knowledge, Perceptions, and Practices Regarding Frailty: A Cross Sectional Survey of Family Physicians in British Columbia.”
