A message from the Department of Family Practice JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) Committee
The month of June is National Indigenous History Month, with June 21 being National Indigenous Peoples Day.
This is a time to honour and celebrate the contributions, culture and resilience of First Nations, Inuit and Metis Peoples.
It is a time to listen and to learn about the true history of Indigenous Peoples on whose lands we have the privilege of living, working and studying.
We can commemorate National Indigenous History Month by participating in events and committing to learning about the history and resilience of Indigenous Peoples on these lands and the roles we have in undoing the legacy of colonization within UBC, our healthcare system, and in our personal lives.
