The Midwifery Program would like to recognize Sherry-Lee Hubick for the June Cedar Award. Sherry has been an invaluable member of the Midwifery team since 2017. As the program’s instructional assistant, Sherry brings a level of organization and professionalism to every aspect of her position. Her attention to detail is unparalleled and her kind, approachable demeanor shines in her work with faculty, staff and students. She consistently goes above and beyond expectations and brings an ease to everyone’s day, as we know that anything that Sherry is managing is going to be done right and in the best possible way for everyone involved.
As an instructional assistant, Sherry provides curriculum, classroom, and related support to the Midwifery Program’s faculty, students and student services manager. She is the first point of contact for all instructors in the program for the delivery of the curriculum at UBC and BC Women’s Hospital.
Sherry is so committed to the smooth operations of the educational programs that as she began to think about retirement a year ago, she started writing an operations manual for her position. She has in-depth knowledge of UBC policies, procedures, and systems that provided support that the faculty and staff will miss when she retires.
Congratulations, Sherry!
